The resort slows down, but the events calendar is full: Independence Day with winter swimming, a poetry festival, Andrzejki and the “Music of the Mountains” concert. We suggest what to choose, what to do on a rainy day and where to walk when the rain stops. For those seeking accommodation, we also have ready-made stay plans with a pool at the end of the day.
November in Polanica-Zdrój: the resort off-season
In autumn, Polanica reveals its quieter side. After the season, Zdrojowy Park becomes peaceful, while long evenings invite you to the theatre and sauna.
A November trip here has a simple rhythm. A morning walk or short excursion, a pool in the afternoon, then theatre or dinner after dark. If it rains, the area also offers several indoor attractions.
Events in Polanica-Zdrój in November 2026

November in Polanica-Zdrój on a rainy day
November in the mountains can be wet, but rain does not have to mean staying in your room. Kłodzko Fortress and the museum in Duszniki-Zdrój are a dozen or so kilometres from Polanica, so the drive is short.
Kłodzko Fortress. It is one of the best-preserved fortifications of its kind in Poland. On a rainy day, the underground route is most interesting, as it runs through the fortress corridors. The casemates once also served as storage rooms and shelters. Read more about its history in our description of Kłodzko Fortress and its underground passages.
Museum of Papermaking in Duszniki-Zdrój. The Museum of Papermaking has operated since 1968 in a historic paper mill. You can see old machines and tools for handmade paper production. During workshops, you can also make paper yourself using the traditional method, but check the dates before arriving. Families with children especially enjoy the museum.
Skull Chapel in Kudowa-Zdrój. The Skull Chapel in Czermna, a district of Kudowa, was built between 1776 and 1784 by Father Wacław Tomaszek. Its walls and ceiling are covered with around 3,000 skulls and bones of victims of the Silesian Wars, epidemics and famine. Above all, it is a place of remembrance where silence should be observed.
Bear Cave in Kletno. Set aside half a day for a trip to Bear Cave, as Kletno is farther away than the other places. Tourists explore around 700 metres of passageways, while the temperature inside remains around 6°C all year.
Before setting out, check the current opening hours on the sites’ websites, as they may be shorter outside the season. If you prefer to stay nearby, spend a rainy afternoon in the hotel pool and sauna. You can also find a ready-made full-day bad-weather plan in our post what to do in Polanica-Zdrój when it rains.
Walks on a dry day
On a dry day, start at Zdrojowy Park in Polanica-Zdrój. At its centre is the Mineral Water Pump Room, where you can try natural medicinal waters. Besides the main paths, it is also worth visiting Chess Park.
Plan a longer walk in the Stołowe Mountains. Szczeliniec Wielki is 919 m above sea level and famous for its broad views and unusual rock formations. After rain, the stone steps can be slippery, and in November even icy, so wear shoes with good grip. Before setting out, check notices from Stołowe Mountains National Park.
What to see around Polanica-Zdrój
If you want to explore without taking a trail, choose one of these places for half a day.
- In Wambierzyce, known as the Jerusalem of Silesia, you can see a large basilica and calvary.
- Meanwhile, Chopin Manor, a wooden 18th-century building, stands in the spa park in Duszniki-Zdrój.
- If you have more time, combine your visit to Duszniki with the Museum of Papermaking, as both places are in the same town.
