The Chopin Festival 2026 in Duszniki-Zdrój will take place from August 7 to 15. This is the 81st edition of the world's oldest piano festival, running continuously since 1946. Concerts are held at the Chopin Manor, just 12 km from our hotel in Polanica-Zdrój. Therefore, it is worth booking your stay in advance, as some tickets for the concerts are already sold out.

This year's edition gathers laureates of the world's largest piano competitions. The inauguration is scheduled for August 7 at 8:00 PM. The Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra NFM, conducted by Paweł Kapuła, will perform. The soloists will be Piotr Alexewicz and Tianyao Lyu, winners of the 19th Chopin Competition in Warsaw (2025).

In the following days, performers will include Alexander Gavrylyuk (gold medalist of the Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv), Jakub Kuszlik (winner of the 18th Chopin Competition), Shiori Kuwahara (winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels), and Saehyun Kim (winner of the Long-Thibaud Competition in Paris). Additionally, on August 11 at 9:00 PM, the traditional Nocturne with Marcin Majchrowski will take place.

The festival will close on August 15 with the final concert by Yulianna Avdeeva, winner of the 16th Chopin Competition. Earlier that day, Hyunjin Roh, laureate of the Paderewski Competition in Bydgoszcz, will perform.

Chopin Manor in Duszniki: history and location

Concerts take place in the historic Chopin Manor in Duszniki-Zdrój. It was here in 1826 that sixteen-year-old Fryderyk Chopin played two charity concerts during his spa stay. He arrived in Duszniki on August 3 with his mother and sisters Emilia and Ludwika to restore his health weakened by illness.

The first festival was organized in 1946, on the 120th anniversary of Chopin's stay in Duszniki. Since then, it has been held annually at the turn of July and August. Also, during the 81st edition, the 25th National Masterclass Course is planned with professors Alexander Gavrylyuk (August 7-11) and Alexander Kobrin (August 12-15).

Travel from Polanica-Zdrój to Duszniki

It is 12 km from us to the Chopin Manor in Duszniki. By car, the journey takes 15 minutes. The route runs via road no. 33 through Szczytna. It is especially worth planning your travel with time to spare because parking spaces near the Manor fill up quickly on festival days.

Trains of the Lower Silesian Railways also run from Polanica to Duszniki. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes. This is a convenient alternative, especially in the evening after the 8:00 PM concert. However, it is worth checking the timetable in advance because not all connections align with concert times.

Restaurant and relaxation after the concert

After the evening concert in Duszniki, you will return to us within fifteen minutes. In our Alpine Restaurant, you can order dinner with dishes from the Alpine and Polish cuisine, prepared with regional products from the Kłodzko Land. The restaurant has 80 seats and is air-conditioned.

The next morning, before the afternoon concert, we invite you to the wellness area with a pool, Finnish sauna, and steam bath. Thanks to this, the stay combines music with relaxation.

What to do between concerts

The Chopin Festival lasts 9 days, and concerts take place at 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. It is worth filling mornings and early afternoons with attractions in the area:

  • Zdrojowy Park in Polanica-Zdrój (10 minutes on foot from us): walking avenues, colorful fountain, and blooming rhododendrons.
  • Paper Museum in Duszniki-Zdrój (12 km, 15 minutes by car): the only museum of its kind in Poland, offering demonstrations of handmade paper making. Worth visiting before the concert.
  • Szczeliniec Wielki (30 km, 40 minutes by car): the highest peak of the Table Mountains with a rocky labyrinth at the summit.
  • Błędne Skały (30 km, 40 minutes by car): a rock labyrinth with wooden footbridges, the trail takes 30-60 minutes to complete.
  • Kudowa-Zdrój (20 km, 25 minutes by car): Spa Park, Mineral Water Pump Room, and border crossing to the Czech Republic.
